How to go to Remis Rakit , Kenyir Lake

From Kuala Lumpur, there are many modes of travel available.
By road, the normal route will be via the Karak Highway to Kuantan, Pahang. From there, you can choose either the Jerangau-Jabor Highway in Ketangah's region to reach Ajil, or the coastal road to Kemaman, Dungun ad Kuala Terengganu (KT).
Taxis and express buses also provide regular services daily from Kuala Lumpur's Pudu Raya and Hentian Putera Bus terminals.

direct to Gawi - gateway to the Lake. Call for advance booking.

From : Perhentian Putra KL : 9:pm Depart Arrival At SG. Gawi : 6am
From : Sg. Gawi : 08:00pm Arrival at Perhentian Putra KL : 6am
Adult Fare : RM28.70 Child : Below 12yrs.old : RM14.40

By Air: The Malaysia Airlines (MAS) operate daily regular flights to Kuala Terengganu.

From Penang, there are express buses from Butterworth via Kuala Lumpur to Kuala Terengganu. You could take taxis from there to drive through the East West Highway to K.T.

From Johor, the coastal route will take you through Mersing, Johor, to Pekan in Pahang or via the Muadzzam Shah Highway to Kemaman, Terengganu.

Bus and taxi services are available at Kuala Terengganu, which will take about 40 minutes to Kuala Berang town, before reaching Lake kenyir in another 30 minutes.

Highway 2 KL(Gombak Toll) to Kuantan Airport (232km) - turn left
Highway 3 Kuantan Airport to Bukit Besi (27km) - turn left
Highway 14 Bukit Besi turn off to Dungun/Ajil (114km) - turn left
Highway 14 Dungun/Ajil to Ajil/Kuala Berang (42km) - turn left
Highway T106 Ajil to Kuala Berang (10km) - turn left
Highway 11 Kuala Berang to Sungai Gawi Jeti (36km)

 


Things you need to know.

Do bring along trekking shoes, slippers, swimming attire, shorts, t-shirts, towels, jeans and something warm.
From photography enthusiasts, there are countless scenic spots here at Remis Rakit. Make sure you bring enough highspeed film, a polarizer and a tripod is a must. Do wake up early to catch the first light of dawn and mist.
