Places of Interest:
* Sultan Abu Bakar Mosque - built in Moorish style. The 8-year construction of the mosque was completed in 1900. It was built to accommodate 2000 worshippers at any one time.
* Royal Abu Bakar Museum - one of the best museums found in the world. The Royal Abu Bakar Museum is located in the Grand Palaca (Istana Besar) of Sultan Abu Bakar.
* Sultan Ibrahim Building - a landmark nonetheless, was constructed in the 1940's during the British rule of Malaya by His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim.
* City Square - a shopping complex that has something for everyone.
* Dataran Bandaraya - built to commemorate the declaration of Johor Bahru as a city on 31st December 1993.
* Plaza Angsana - located in Tampoi and caters to the middle and upper income groups.
* Johor Art Gallery - founded in 1910, the Johor Art Gallery houses all discovered and historical items.
* The Orchid Valley - the world largest orchid farm garden spreading over 100 acres land area.
* Johore Tourism Information Centre (JOTIC) - a 'one-stop' tourist information centre.
* Pasir Gudang Racing Circuit - the Federation International Motorcycle (FIM) has given the honour to this circuit to host one of the legs of World Motorcycle Championship in 1998. It is one of only two legs to be held in Asia. |
