5 Days 4 Nights Headhunters' Trail

Itinerary:
Day 1: Deer and Lang Caves (Lunch/dinner included)
Upon arrival at Mulu airport, transfer to your accommodation. After lunch proceed to visit Deer and Lang Caves.
Wait for the exodus of thousands of bats on their nightly feeding forays. Trek back to the Park HQ by torchlight. Return to your accommodation. |
Day 2: Clearwater and Wind Caves (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner included)
After breakfast, depart up river and stop at Clearwater and Wind Caves on the way. After visiting the caves, continue for Long Litut by longboat for 1 hour 30 minutes.
After lunch, trek to Camp 5 (2 hours 30 minute). The time estimated depends on the water level. Overnight at Camp 5. |
Day 3:Headhunter's trail / Melinau Gorge / Mulu Limestone Pinnacles (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner included)
After breakfast, stroll the surrounding jungle on the headhunter's trail. Return to Camp 5 for lunch. Later in the afternoon, proceed to Melinau Gorge (about 1 hour although not advisable in bad weather).
Overnight at Camp 5. Alternatively, hike to the Mulu Limestone Pinnacles (1175 metres). The climb takes about 3-4 hours for a physically fit person. Pitcher plants and orchids line the way. Return to Camp 5 for overnight stay. |
Day 4: Rumah Penghulu Sigah/Rumah Bala Lasong Iban longhouse (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner included)
Trek to Kuala Terikan for 5 hours. Proceed down river by boat to Rumah Penghulu Sigah or Rumah Bala Lasong, an Iban longhouse.
The journey takes about 2-3 hours - depending on the water level. Overnight in the longhouse. |
Day 4:Nanga Medamit (Breakfast/Lunch included)
Depart Rumah Penghulu Sigah or Rumah Bala Lasong by boat for 1 hour 30 minutes to Nanga Medamit.
Then proceed to Limbang Town for 1 hour by van. Drop off in the early afternoon at Limbang airport for departure. |
