This tour will bring you to one of the least visited fishing villages of Thailand. The train starts in a highly populated part of Bangkok across the mighty Chao Phraya River. When the train leaves, you almost drive through the kitchens and living rooms of the local people. On the way, you will see the big buildings of Bangkok become smaller and smaller until you are surrounded by rice fields and houses on stilts.

The tour starts with a transfer to Wongwian Yai Railway Station at the Thonburi side of Bangkok across the Chao

Praya River. The local station is situated in the middle of the Wongwian Yai market and offers a great experience and insight into local Thai lifestyle. Board non-air-conditioned train carriages and enjoy a scenic train journey to Mahachai, the largest fresh seafood market in Thailand. A weird and wonderful variety of local produce is sold here. Extensive visit of Mahachai Market followed by a Thai lunch at a local restaurant overlooking the crowded fish market.

After lunch, we will board a small boat for a scenic trip along the river. You will get an excellent view on the Thai fisherman's craft. We will pass fishing boats of all sorts of size and colors sailing into the small harbor. These ships enter the harbor from the Gulf of Thailand loaded with fish. Along a small canal, you will see how these fishermen live and work, passing their homes and small shipyards. In the afternoon, we will return to Mahachai Market and board the train back to Wongwian Yai in Bangkok where we will arrive at approx. 16.00 hrs. Transfer back to your hotel in town by van.
