Blue Lagoon

About 15km from PD town lies the Blue Lagoon, which offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding greenery and the blue open sea. The lagoon is an ideal spot for swimming , boating, catamaran sailing, wind surfing, jet skiing, canoeing, and water skiing. This is where the action is when it comes to having fun in the sun. Besides, accommodation is easily obtainable as a number of hotels and motels are located here.

Kota (Fort) Lukut

Situated 7km from PD, Lukut was an important mining town in the last century. Herein lies a well preserved fort, Kota Lukut. Painstakingly built between 1826 and 1827, it is considered one of the best designed and engineered forts by the Bugis.

Fort Kempas

In fort Kempas, about 23km from PD, lies the grave of a leading historical personality - Keramat Ujong Pasir, Ulama Sheikh Ahmad Mahktum. Beside his grave is the famous stone inscriptions or "batu bersurat", which depict his struggle and history. Here too lies another 15th Century lighthouse although smaller than that in Cape Rachado.
