The basic climbing course currently offered at no cost to the first time climber covers the essential safety techniques. Our experienced and trained instructors will bring the new climber through the methods of knot tying, belaying and climbing etiquette to ensure that they are able to climb with the minimum of risk to themselves and other climbers at the gym.

Prizes: For each category, there will be 10 cash prizes, the following are the cash prizes for the top 5 winners:
1st: RM 500 2nd: RM 400 3rd: RM 300 4th: RM 200
5th: RM 100
In addition to these cash prizes, the winners will also win non-cash prizes.
The competition: ¨ Series of 4 qualifying competitions, starts on 3rd October 1999 and culminates in the Grand Finals in December 2000. ¨ Winners from each of the 4 qualifying competitions will be awarded points based on their finishing positions and the top ¨ 20 climbers from each category will qualify for the Grand Finals in December 2000. ¨ Each climber will climb a series of 6 routes within the time restriction in the preliminary round. The top 20 to advance to the finals will be judged on their performance on all the routes. For more information, please enquire at the gym.
