Secret Recipe bagged the Best Overall Cheesecake Award beating 14 other participants in Vision Kuala Lumpur's Cheesecake Taste Test recently.
Manager Steven Sim said this was the first time the cakehouse had taken part in any competition.

"We were surprised when our entry won as the other entries were so much more elaborate and beautiful.

"The cake we sent in was as simple as what you would see on the counter, without any trimmings," he said.

Their winning entry, Marble Cheesecake, was a baked cheesecake with chocolate marble topping and oatnut base.

Secret Recipe has its three bakers - brothers Nicholas, Desmond and Michael Sim - to thank for, in bringing fame to the cakehouse.

"We have not had any formal training before. It is all in the technique, timing and ingredients.

"We spent a lot of time time experimenting and now the cake is a favourite among our customers'" said Michael.

The cakehouse has 12 other cheesecake on its list. Among them are Mocha Cheese, Chocolate Chunk Cheese, Blue-berry Cheese Peach Cheese, Strawberry Cheese and Strawberry Cheese.

Also offered are chocolate cakes, fresh cream cakes and brownies.
