In the year 2000, the Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Mohd. Ali Rustam issued a matter in which to encourage more bumiputera involvement in the hotel line. Therefore, the Malacca government had agreed to privatized the resort and it was taken over by AMZ Holdings a fully bumiputera own company.

AKCR stand to be one of the most attractive resorts in Malacca with its strategic location surrounded by wonderful fresh greeneries and near many of Malacca places of interests. AKCR is a perfect place for holidays with family and friends or business meetings and seminars. Furthermore it has an ample parking place. AMZ Holdings aims to make AKCR a five star resort. In its 2002 planned the planning was to increase room numbers, built a new banquet room which could accommodate 800 to 1000 people. Therefore the resort could fulfill the demands on bigger conventions and meetings.
