2 Days 1 Night Selingan Turtle Island / Sepilok Orang Utan / Sun Bear

Introduction:
Turtle Island located 40km away from Sandakan. The Turtle Islands National Park comprises of 3 islands, Selingan, Gulisan and Bakungan Kechil (actually there are 10 altogether, where 3 are in Malaysia and the other 7 in Philippines). The island got this name due to the many turtles that swim in the waters around the island. It is also the location where female Green turtles and Hawksbill turtles lay their eggs on the islands' beaches. Throughout the year, the turtles come on shore at night to lay eggs normally in batches of 50 to 80 per time.

Day 1 : Sandakan / Selingan Turtle Island (Lunch / Dinner Included)

• Pick up from hotel, transfer to CQ Jetty for Selingan Turtle Island. This journey by motorised boat will take about 1 hour. After lunch, grab your mask, fins and snorkel and head to the beach where you can find lots of juvenile marine life. Or, you can choose to relax or sun bathing by the beach. Before dinner, treat yourself to a slide show featuring information of the turtle’s park and turtles. After dinner, standby at the Cafeteria. Wait for Park Ranger’s signal before proceed in a small group to the egg-laying site to witness the mother turtle laying eggs, transferring of eggs to the hatchery and releasing of hatchlings to the sea. Stay overnight at Selingan Island Chalet.

Day 2 : Selingan Turtle Island / Sepilok Orang Utan Centre / Sandakan (Breakfast Included)

• 0600hrs, wake up early in the morning and have your breakfast at 0630hrs. By 0700hrs, depart Selingan Island and return to mainland. Estimated arrival time at the jetty is at about 0800hrs. We Continue our excursion to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. Visit to Outdoor Nursery, witness the morning feeding of orang utans in the forest, watch the scheduled video programme about the Orang Utan (25mins) at the Nature Education Centre, pay a visit to the Exhibition Hall. After Sepilok, visit to the nearby Sun Bear Conservation Centre. Lunch enroute before dropping off at SDK Airport or transfer back to your hotel.
