Central Market
Built in 1928, it is an old building that has won awards for its architectural design. Because of its strategic location, the rapid development of the surrounding area and the need to cater to tourists, the building was later converted into a large arts and crafts centre which showcases the work of local artists and craftsmen. Cultural performances are also regularly hosted here. A wide variety of Malaysian food can be sampled in and around the Central Market. You can find Central Market just across from the Klang River, opposite the Dayabumi Complex, on the fringe of KL's Chinatown. Its location makes it easily accessible by road and rail, and to pedestrians as well.

KL Tower

To experience the exhilarating view from the KL Tower, visitors can go to the 335-metre high observation deck. From here, visitors can observe Kuala Lumpur city below and the world's only forest reserve in the middle of a city.

Masjid Jamek
Masjid Jamek, the oldest mosque in Kuala Lumpur has a striking redbrick and marble exterior, a beautiful example of north Indian Islamic architecture. Located at the confluence of the Gombak and Klang rivers, this historical mosque sits on the land in which miners were in search of tin long ago.

Merdeka Square
Dataran Merdeka occupies a very significant place in Malaysian history. At the peak of its popularity in colonial times, it was a central gathering point for the British; it was also a cricket green. Previously, it was known as the Selangor Club Padang. Like many historic sites around the country, the structures around Dataran Merdeka bear traces of its past, and especially the colonial presence.

Selangor Club is located at one corner of the square, and was formerly a social gathering place for British residents. Its Tudor-style architecture is interesting and adds character to the square. Close by is the neo-Gothic church of St Mary's Cathedral, which is more than 100 years old.

National Planetarium
Sitting majestically on a hilltop in the city's Lake Gardens, the National Planetarium is a beautiful blue-domed structure. It contains a Space Theatre, Space Science Exhibit, Resource Centre, Viewing Gallery and Observatory Park. The observatory is equipped with a 35.5cm (14 inch) telescope. As for the Space Theatre, it screens a Space Science and Sky shows daily.

Petronas Twin Towers
Currently the second-tallest building in the world after Taipei 101 in Taiwan, the Petronas Twin Towers vividly symbolises strength and grace of Islamic architecture. This 100-acre site stands out in the heart of Kuala Lumpur's Golden Triangle was completed in 1997 at a whopping cost of US$1.2 billion and rising to 1,484 ft (451.9m). The Twin Towers are a striking glass-and-steel combination with floor plans based on an eight-pointed star, joined at the 41st and 42nd floors (175m above street level) by a 192 ft-long (58.4 m) double-decker sky bridge; linking the two sky lobbies and facilitating the movement between the two towers. At the foot of the towers, one may experience the luxurious facilities of shopping at the Suria KLCC shopping centre.

Saujana Golf & Country Club
Saujana Golf & Country Club (SGCC) was formerly an oil palm estate. Transformed into an exotic playground for the elite, SGCC, one of the 100 best golf resorts in the world, is the country's most prestigious and expensive golf resort. It is part of a 162-hectare leisure resort encompassing a deluxe hotel, multi-sports facilities and a clubhouse. There are two 18-hole courses, the Palm Course and the Bunga Raya Course. Buggies are compulsory for the latter but both are equally difficult and irresistible with swales, mounds, high ridges, kidney shaped bunkers, lakes and ponds to literally take your breath away.
